After 24 successful years, Jerry and Brenda Miller have decided that is it time to give someone else a chance to manage Weavers campground and Tackle Store. My name is Lucy Oberle and along with my fiancé Rick Kirchberg, we are it. | ||||

We love the Ozark hills and streams with the opportunities they offer for fun and relaxation. Brenda and Jerry have done such a wonderful job and we don't want to lose sight of the vision that they had. They created an affordable and welcoming place to relax and do a little fishing. We plan to continue this tradition. The store has been remodeled to give you more room to shop and visit with friends. We hope you will stop in to see the changes. What we have not changed is the commitment to low prices and good old fashioned customer service. We are committed to maintaining the reputation that the Millers have worked so hard to build. We are also very fortunate that the same great people who worked for them have agreed to stay on and continue working in the store. You can count on them to be there for you to listen and to offer advice. You will still be able to click on the "Fishing Report" above for current weather and stream conditions. |

We have had quite a few e-mails asking us to tell everyone who we are. I was born in Kansas and have deep family roots there. Most of my life I have lived in Colorado. Recently I have been working at a large hotel on the western slope of Colorado as the event manager. As a result of this experience, I will tell you that I'm not fond of weddings, but I do know how to throw a party! Some of my best memories are of trout fishing with my cousins and our dads in the creeks of the Colorado mountains. Each family had a cabin with a couple of beds, a table and a wood cook stove. We went to sleep at night lulled by the rushing of the Colorado River. We thought we were in heaven. I've lived most of my adult life in Fruita, Colorado. My late husband and I took every opportunity to take our boys camping and hiking in the rugged wilderness that surrounded us. They are both married now and my oldest has three children of his own. Rick was born an raised in Michigan and spent countless weekends on the lake with his father fishing at their cabin in Traverse City. " I looked forward to every Friday when we would head to the north country, and hit the lake while my mom would cook us supper. Dad and I would bring our nightly catch home and we would all relax around the campfire in the crisp night air." Rick has been employed by Direct TV for the past 4 years and retired from Frito-Lay in 2003. He is a veteran of the Vietnam war where he served in the USAF. He left the corporate environment to work full time in the telecommunications company his family started in 2001. Rick has 5 sons and 4 daughters from his previous marriage. You may see his two youngest daughters in the store or campground during their spring break and in the summer. Rick's passion is his kids and devotion to youth activities. He has coached multiple youth sports including baseball and softball for 29 seasons and is looking forward to taking an active part in the kids fishing weekend at the spring We knew we would meet great people when we came here, but even so we were surprised at the warmth and generosity that has been shown to us. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but every day we are more convinced that this place is truly one of the worlds little gems and we appreciate the gift we have been given.
