Welcome to Montauk State Park

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources Division of State Parks preserves and interprets many natural and cultural masterpieces within our fine state.  Since its acquisition in 1926, the 1,393-acre Montauk State Park has been one of the most popular vacation spots in Missouri.  The fast-flowing, spring-fed headwaters of the Current River make Montauk an ideal home for rainbow trout and the scenic valley creates a pleasing atmosphere for fishing enthusiasts and vacationers alike.

We hope that you will soon have an opportunity to take advantage of the many facilities, resources, and services available to over 450,000 citizens that visit Montauk each year. Our historic grist mill, campground, motel, cabins, restaurant, store, and picnic areas (administered by DNR) are nestled in the heart of the south central Ozarks, providing a traditional backdrop for the many outstanding recreational opportunities available to you.  A fish hatchery providing regularly stocked trout is also located on site and is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

On behalf of the many employees dedicated to the service of our park visitors, we would like to invite you to visit Montauk State Park soon and hope that your stay is both pleasant and memorable.
