Montauk State Park is not only home to one of the most beautiful springs in Missouri and what is considered by many as one of the best trout streams in the Midwest, but it is also the proud owner of the famous Dorman L. Steelman Lodge, Motel and Rental Cabins.

The lodge contains a spacious full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prime rib is commonly served as a Saturday night special. Dinner reservations are not necessary. There's also a soda fountain and snack-bar counter, which serves meals on a regular basis and specializes in hand dipped ice cream and related treats.

The lodge dining room is famous for its home cooked meals, fresh bread, rolls, homemade pies, seafood and fine steaks. In addition to the dining room and snack bar, the lodge also contains a store facility that provides a complete line of fishing supplies including hand-tied flies created by local craftsmen. Trout tags, trout privilege and fishing licenses are also on hand for fishermen. Camping supplies, waders, T-shirts and souvenirs as well as groceries including milk, charcoal and all of the essentials to make your stay in the park more comfortable are available in the lodge store.

James and Mary Coffman, concessionaires of the lodge, have been in the food and beverage business for a number of years. They are lifelong residents of Dent County and have three daughters, Elizabeth, Carrie and Molly. Steve Fisher of Salem is the general manager of the Lodge and supervises the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, lodging facilities and store.

Lodging accommodations include 18 motel rooms and 28 cabin units. All cabins and motels rooms are air conditioned and heated. Linens are furnished in all types of lodging. Cabins 9-12 and cabins 22-33 have tub/shower combinations, all others are equipped with showers only. Queen size beds are available in cabins 9,10,11,12 and cabins 22 through 33. Hot tubs available with cabin 27 and cabin 28. Cabins 11, 12 and 26 are accessible to persons with disabilities, as well as motel #1 and #18. All motel rooms as well as cabins 22 through 33 are equipped with televisions (limited reception).

Housekeeping cabins are furnished with stove and refrigerator and adequate utensils for vacation cooking and dining. The lodge also rents a meeting room for reunions, meetings and other gatherings equipped with a kitchen and restrooms facilities.
