Camping at Montauk

 

     Montauk's campsites are all located in the Current River valley, close to great fishing.

     There are 31 non-electric sites and 125 electric sites.  All have a paved pad, fire grill, picnic table and lantern post.

     Two showerhouses provide restrooms, hot showers and laundry.  There's a woodlot, ice vending and three sanitary dump stations for RVs.  Camping supplies, groceries and dining are nearby at the park lodge.

     Camping is open year-round with reduced rates in winter.  Electric, water and one vault toilet are available.  Showers are closed November 1 to February 24.  Campsite reservations can be made by calling toll free 1-877-422-6766 (1-877-ICampMO) or 1-866-568-9776 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Sites can be reserved on the Web 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.mostateparks.com.

     You may obtain a campground map from the fee booth or park office (573-548-2201).  Dial all Missouri State Parks toll free at 1-800-334-6946.

     Plan weekend visits as far in advance as possible.  Greatest demand is for electric sites which fill before basic sites.

     Camp during off-peak periods to have more site choices, more fishing opportunities and a more relaxed visit.  Enjoy the experience of being outdoors and part of the natural world!
